Two ropes extend from the top of a flagpole to the ground 18 feet away from flagpole's base on either side. The flagpole is 30 feet high. The ropes each create a triangle with the flagpole, and each right triangle is half of a larger triangle with the flagpole at its center. Area of large triangle:

    18^2x30^2=

    324x900=1224

    Then you would take the square root of 1224 and get 34.9
