What is 1 3/4 times 3? Explain how you know.

    You can convert 1 3/4 into 7/4 by timing the 1 and the 4 then adding the 3 which equals 7/4. Then you use the 3 and out it over a 1 then you multiply 7/4 times 3/1 and it equals 5.25
