Half of Sarah's wire is equal to 2/5 of Daniel's. Chris has 3 times as much as Sarah. In all, their wire measures 6 ft. how long is Sarah's wire in feet?

    Let x be the length of Daniel's wire. With the representation, Sarah's wire is 4x/5 and that of Chris is 3 time 4x/5. The equation that best represent the situation given above is,

    x + 4x/5 + 3 (4x/5) = 6

    The value of x in ft is 1.42. Therefore, Sarah's wire which is 4x/5 is approximately 1.14 ft long.
