    picks one, then replaces. then picks another

    since he puts the button back, the sample size remains the same as when he picked the 1st one ... and that sample size is 5

    if 1 button is added, and he uses the same process and replaces the button he picked, then the sample size will be 6 ... because 1 button was added making a total of 6 buttons.
