    The percentage increase is 33.3%

    Step-by-step explanation:

    In this question, we are concerned with calculating the percentage increase in the price of the sauce in the question.

    Firstly, initially they were selling 16 ounce for $6. Thus, the price of just an ounce would be 6/16 = $0.375 per ounce

    Now, after running out, it became 12 ounce for $6. Thus, the unit price would now be 6/12 = $0.5 per ounce

    The percentage increase in price can be calculated using the formula;

    (new price - old price) / old price * 100%

    We have calculated the old price to be $0.375 per ounce and the new price to be $0.5 per ounce

    We plug these values to get;

    (0.5-0.375) / 0.375 * 100%

    = 0.125/0.375 * 100%

    = 33.33%

    To the nearest tenth of a percent, the percentage increase is 33.3-%
