    so 4.5 * (8 - x) = 36 - 4.5x + 36 and bring the rest down = 102 - 2.5 (3x + 24)

    use distributive property again - 2.5 * (3x + 24) = - 7.5x - 60

    36 - 4.5x + 336 = 102 - 7.5x - 60 add 36 to the 36 on the right side to the left side

    72 - 4.5x = 102 - 7.5x - 60 subtract 102 - 60 = 42 72 - 4.5x = 42 - 7.5x

    move the variable to the left-hand side and change its sign

    72 - 4.5x + 7.5x = 42 now move the constant to the right-hand side and change its sign - 4.5x + 7.5x = 42 - 72

    now collect like terms which is 3x = - 30 and divide 3 on both sides which gives u (x = - 10).

    (2). 12x>9 (2x-3) - 15 use distributive property

    so 9 * (2x-3) = 18x-7 and bring down the rest

    12x> 18x-27-15 and calculate the difference which gives you 12x>18x-42
