    Amount of milk and cream combined = 1/2 + 2/3 = (3 + 4) / 6 = 7/6 = 1 1/6

    Required amount = 7/6 - 1/4 = 14 - 3 = 11/12

Therefre, 11/12 less water is used than milk and cream combined.
