The Length of a rectangle is twice it's width. If the perimeter of the rectangle was 54 yards find its length and width.

    L = 2W

    2L + 2W = 54

    2 (2W) + 2W = 54

    6W = 54

    W = 9 and therefore L = 18

    length = 18 and width = 9.
