    5/8 of a pound

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Jake's amount of gumdrops is 1/8 of a pound, and the sum of Jake's amount and his sister's amount is 3/4 of a pound. Let's call the amount of gumdrops his sister got by X.

    So, we have that:

    (1/8) + X = 3/4

    (1 + 8*X) / 8 = 6/8

    1 + 8*X = 6

    8*X = 5

    X = 5/8

    The weight of his sister's amount of gumdrops is 5/8 of a pound
