    Y+6x=11; 3x+2y=-2 6x + y + - 6x = 11 + - 6x (Add - 6x to both sides)

    y = - 6x + 11

    Substitute - 6x + 11 foryin 3x + 2y = - 2

    3x + 2y = - 2

    3x + 2 ( - 6x + 11) = - 2

    - 9x + 22 = - 2 (Simplify both sides of the equation)

    - 9x + 22 + - 22 = - 2 + - 22 (Add - 22 to both sides)

    - 9x = - 24

    - 9x / - 9 = - 24 / - 9 (Divide both sides by - 9)

    x = 8 / 3
