Josiah has a piece of wood that measures 10 1/8 feet. He wants to mants 5 shelves. If each shelf is 1 3/4 feet long, does he have enough to make 5 shelves? Explain

    Yes, he does have enough wood to make 5 shelves because 1 multiplied by 5 is 5 and 3/4 multiplied by 5 is equal to 3 and 3/4. 5 + 3 and 3/4 = 8 and 3/4 feet of wood which is less wood than 10 ft.
