Jen bought some sesame bagels and some plain bagels and some plain bagels. the ratio of the number of sesame bagels to the number of plain bagels is 1:3. A: what fraction of the bagels are plain? B:What percent of the bagels are plain? C:if Jill bought 2 dozen bagels, how many of each type of bagel did she buy?

    A.) 3/4 are plain b.) 75% are plain c.) 18 are plain and 6 are sesame. 2 dozen bagels is the same as 24 bagels. Since there are 4 total parts, you have to divide the number of bagels into 4 equal parts [24 / 4]. Since each part is 6 bagels, multiply 6 by 3 since the ratio of plain to sesame is 3:1. Yours should get 18 plain bagels. Then, since 3 of the 4 parts are plain, and each part is 6 bagels, there are 6 sesame bagels.
