Jess has 9 feet of blue fabric. To finish making her costume she needs one third of that amount of red fabric. The fabric store sells fabric by the yard. How much fabric does jess need to buy?

    She will need one yard of red fabric because 9 feet is equal to 3 yards and because she needs one third she will need 1 yard (or 3 feet) of red fabric
