Miss Salina, a boutique owner, received a shipment of stitched suits from a stitching factory. She sold half of them in the first week. In second week, after two more were sold, she had exactly 2/5 of the suits left. How many suits were in the shipment?

    X = original amount

    x - 1/2x - 2 = 2/5x

    1/2x - 2 = 2/5x

    -2 = 2/5x - 1/2x

    -2 = 4/10x - 5/10x

    -2 = - 1/10x

    -2 / (-1/10) = x

    -2 * - 10/1 = x

    20 = x < = = = she was originally shipped 20 suits
