x² - 4x + 6 = 0
x² - 2x = - 6 + ( - 2) ²
x² - 2x = - 6 + 4
(x - 2) ² = - 2
x - 2 = ± 2i
Answer: x = 2 ± 2i-no real root [imaginary solutions only]
