What you need to do is 1/3 divided by 6 and for that you put a 1 on top of the six and multiply it should look like this: 1/3 X 1/6 (which is the same thing as doing 3*6)

    Answer: 1/18

Split the pie into thirds. Then split the third that is being observed into six pieces. Given that the other 2/3 can hold 12 slices, each person would have 1/18.
