    (5, - 2)

    Step-by-step explanation:

    x + y = 3 can become x = 3-y

    we are going to use substitution

    now plug x = 3-y into the other equation

    2 (3-y) + 3y = 4

    6-2y+3y = 4

    6 + y = 4

    subtract 6 from both sides

    y = - 2

    now plug in y back into one of the equations, it doesn't matter which one. I am going to use the x + y = 3 equation

    x - 2 = 3

    x = 5
