    Farmer Brown has 5 cows and farmer Green has 7 cows

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Let the no. of cows farmer brown has be 'b'

    Let the no. of cows farmer green has be 'g'

    Given that,

    B+1 = G-1

    G = B + 2

    G+1 = 2 (B-1)

    G+1 = 2B - 2

    G = 2B - 3

    B + 2 = 2B - 3

    2 + 3 = 2B - B

    B = 5

    G = B + 2

    G = 5 + 2

    G = 7

    Farmer Brown has 5 cows and farmer Green has 7 cows
