    let the width be x

    the length will be 8 + 3x

    We use the formula:

    2W + 2L = P

    where W is width, L is Length, P is parameter of the rectangle

    2 (x) + 2 (8 + 3x) = 64

    2x + 16 + 6x = 64

    2x + 6x = 64 - 16

    8x = 48

    x = 48/8

    x = 6

    Width is 6

    Length is 8 + 3 (6) = 8+18 = 26

    Therefore Length of rectangle is 26 cm and Width is 6 cm
