    24/2=12 so 12 is 1/3 of the students. 12 + 24 = 36

    If we assume that all students who were not sick came then

    3/3-1/2=2/3 left

    24 were at school

    24=2/3 of all

    times both sides by 3/2

    72/2=all

    36=all

    there are 36 students
