Goran is staining the wooden floor of a court. The court is in the shape of a rectangle. Its length is 43 feet and its width is 36 feet. Suppose each can of wood stain covers 172 square feet. How many cans will I need to cover the court?

    To find the area multiply length times width.

    43 times 36 is 1548

    Take 1548 divide by 172 to get the answer.

    1548/172 equals 9
