The length of a rectangle is 6 feet more than twice the width. if the length is 24 feet, what is the width?

    L = 2W + 6

    L = 24

    24 = 2W + 6

    24 - 6 = 2W

    18 = 2W

    18/2 = W

    9 = W < = = = width is 9 ft
