Determine whether 3y = - 7x + 8 is quadratic or not. Explain.

A. No; there is no constant term, so c = 0.

B. No; there is no x-term, so b = 0.

C. No; there is no x^2-term, so a = 0.

    C. No; there is no x^2-term, so a = 0.

    For a function to be a quadratic it had to have an x raised to the second power. without it, this example is a linear equation.
