The! sign in mathematics means factorial.
This is the product of a number and below it until 1.
In mathematical language
a! = a * (a - 1) !
So,
5! = 5 * 4 * 3 * 2 * 1 = 120
9! = 9 * 8 * 7 * 6 * 5 * 4 * 3 * 2 * 1 = 326 880
Therefore 9! - 5! = 326 880 - 120 = 326 760
