One angle is 13 less than five times of another angle. The sun of the measures of two angles is 140 degrees. determine the measure of each angle in degrees

    We have x + y = 140 degrees and x = 5y - 13;

    Then, 5y - 13 + y = 140;

    6y - 13 = 140;

    6y = 153;

    y = 153 : 6;

    y = 25.5 degrees;

    x = 140 - 25.5;

    x = 114.5 degrees;
