    Answer: 5 times

    Step-by-step explanation:

Hi, to answer this question we have to divide the capacity of the bucket (6 1⁄2 gallon) by the amount of gallons that the dip can hold (1 1/2)

    6 1/2 : 1 1/2 =

First, we convert to improper fractions

    (6x2) + 1 / 2 : (1x2) + 1 / 2 = 13/2 : 3/2

    Dividing:

    13/2 : 3/2 = (13 x 2) / (2x3) = 26/6 = 13/3 = 4.33 times = 5 times (since in 4 times the bucket is not filled yet)

If you were to divide 6 1/2 by 1/12 you would get 4.3 (repeating) but since you cant take. 3 of a trip to fill an entire bucket and 4 turns wouldn't fill it completely,

Mr meadows would have to take 5 trips
