Ellen invested $150 and Bob invested $180. At a ratio of 5:6, Ellen must have invested a little less than half the money and Bob must hsve invested a little more than half. A convenient estimate would be 150 for Ellen and 180 for Bob. Now we have to check the ratio to determine whether we need to adjust our estimate. 150/30 equsls 5 and 180/30 is 6, so the ratio would be 5:6 and our estimate was right on? So we don't have to adjust.
