Joan and Jack bought a total of x art kits from a craft store. Each kit contained y beads. Joan and Jack divided the beads equally between them. What

    Joan received 1/2 of the beads, or y. That means one of the values is 1/2y.

    x is the number of kits, and y is determined by x.

    J = x (1/2y)

    (Assume J equals the number of beads Joan gets, you can assign whatever letters you'd like to that value)
