Alfie sells flooring for playgrounds.

The playground is rectangular length 9m and width 15m.

The lawn is rectangular length 3m and width 4m.

Alfie will put flooring on all the space inside the playground but not on the lawn.

The flooring cost £36 per square metre.

Work out the total cost of the flooring

    area of playground = 9*15 = 135m^2

    area of lawn = 3*4=12m^2

    total flooring area = 135-12 = 123m^2

    cost=36*123=$4428
