    The standard position of a function is y = ax^n + bx^n-1 + ... k where a, b and k are all constants. In this case, the problem gives

    y = - one over two (x - 2) 2 - 2

    Translating numerically,

    y = [-1/2 (x-2) ^2 ] - 2

    2 (x-2) ^2 y = - 1 - 2 (2 * (x-2) ^2)

    2 (x-2) ^2 y = - 1 - 4 (x^2-4x+4)

    y = (-4x^2 + 16x - 17) / (2 (x-2) ^2)
