    Ok so first off understand what they are saying. there is a movie on sale for $22.10 which is 15 percent of the original price. So now what you do is set up the problem.

    22.10 is = 15% of the price

    x = 100% of the price (original price)

    15 = 22.10

    100 x

    now just use cross multiplication.

    15x = 22.10 · 100

    solve for x.

    15x = 2210

    15 15

    x = 147.33333333 since the 3's go on forever you can simply put it into a fraction

    x = 147 3

    9

    whenever there is a repeating number you can put it into a fraction but putting the repeating number over a 9
