    10=4 (3a+2)

    1: first you distribute the 4 to 3a and 2 (4*3a & 4*2)

    10=12a+8

    2: subtract the 8 from both sides

    2=12a

    3: divide the both sides by 12

    1/6=1

    U mean solve for a?

    10=4 (3a+2)

    10 = (4) (3a) + (4) (2) (Distribute)

    10=12a+8

    Flip the equation.

    12a+8=10

    Subtract 8 from both sides.

    12a+8-8=10-8

    12a=2

    Divide both sides by 12.

    12a/12=2/12

    a=1/6
