    To find the equation in standard form of the line. First solve for the m value - slope.

    (-2,4) and (1,-2)

    M = y2 - y1 / x2 - X1

    M = - 2 - 4 / 1 - - 2

    M = - 6/3

    M = - 2.

    Y - y1 = m (X - x1)

    Y - 4 = - 2 (X + 2)

    Y - 4 = - 2 (X + 2)

    Y - 4 = - 2x - 4

    Y - 4 + 4 = - 2x - 4 + 4

    Y = - 2x.

    Y - Y = - 2x - Y

    0 = - 2x - Y

    -2x - Y = 0.

    I believe the standard form equation of the line is - 2x - Y = 0.
