    4x + y = - 2 - -> 4x = - y - 2

    4x + 6y = 44

    Substitute 4x in the 2. equation.

    (-y - 2) + 6y = 44

    5y - 2 = 44

    5y = 46

    y = 9.2

    4x = - 9.2 - 2

    4x = - 11.2

    x = - 2.8
