If there are 83 people in a room and 11 are boys, what is the probability that a person chosen at random will be a girl? state your answer as a percentage rounded to the nearest hundredth.

    P = #girls/#people. The number of girls is equal to 83-11 = 72. So the probability is equal to 72/83 = 0.867. To convert the decimal into a percentage we simply multiply it by 100. So the probability is equal to 86.7%
