    The volume is 96 ft^3 feet because you use the formula b*h which means b which is base is length times height and that is 12*4 which is 48. Then you multiply 48*2 which is 96.

    Volume = L x W x H

    so 12 x 4 x 2=96^3 ft (^3 means cubic)
