Rosita is playing a card game with some friends. The game starts by Rosita passing 7 cards to each player. If she passes out twenty-eight cards all together, how many players are there? If p represents the number of players, then this problem can be represented by the equation 7 times p equals twenty-eight. Which property should you use to solve this equation?

    7p = 28 ... division property ... divide both sides by 7

    p = 28/7

    p = 4 < = = there are 4 players
