This is a wonderfully easy problem. So, you start off by dividing the pounds of sugar by the denominator which is 4. So:

    20 / 4 = ?

Then you that product and multiply it by the numerator, which is 3 in this case and you get your answer.

If 20 is 100% then 20 divided by 4 equals 5 so 20 lbs. - 5 lbs. = 15 lbs. the baker has 15 pounds of sugar left.
