There are 83 full price and 140 half-price admissions. There are 2 equations involved. Let x be the number of full price admissions and y as the half-price admissions. The 1st equation deals with the admissions, written as x+y=223. The 2nd equation deals with the sales, written as $5x + $2.5y=$765. Use the simpler equation and isolate 1 unknown; y=223-x. Substitute the y value to the 2nd equation to get the x value. lastly, substitute the x value to either equation to get y.
