How do you simplify the inequality 4x-7>1

    4x-7>1

    +7 + 7

    (-7+7) = 0 They cancel each other.

    (1+7) = 8

    4x>8

    /4 / 4

    (4/4) Cross it out, since they are both the same number. So, you stay with x.

    (8:4) = 2

    You get x>2
