A store pays $10 for a bracelet, and the markup is 115%. A customer will also pay 5 1/2% sales tax. What will be the total cost of the bracelet to the nearest cent?

    The answer is:

    $10.00 x 115% = $11.50

    $10.00 + $11.50 = $21.50

    $21.50 x 5 1/2% = $1.1825

    $21.50 + $1.1825 = $22.6825 rounded would be $22.68
