A rectangular school banner has a length of 44 inches, a perimeter of 156 inches, and an area of 1,496 square inches. The cheerleaders make signs similar to the banner. The length of a sign is 11 inches. What is its perimeter and its area?

    Multiply 44 and 156 then divide it by 1496

    the cheerleader sign is 1/4 of other sign

    A=LW

    A/L=W

    1496/44=W

    34=W

    scale it down 1/4

    34/4=8.5

    P=2 (L+W)

    P=2 (11+8.5)

    P=2 (19.5)

    P=39 inches

    area=legnth times width

    A=11*8.5

    A=93.5 square inches

    perimiter is 39 inches

    area is 93.5 square inches
