    The side lengths to get an area of 40 could be 8 and 5

    Area = length x width

    So if one side is 8 and the other is 5 then it will have to be the same on the opposite side of the rectangle

    Perimeter = side + side + side + side

    So it is 8+8+5+5 = 16+10 = 26 feet

    A possible perimeter for the rectangle would be 28

    Area=L x W

    40/10=4

    Width=4, Length=10

    Perimeter=L+L+W+W

    4+4+10+10=28
