Is 7• (d-1) + 2 equal to 7• (d+1)

    No, they are not equal

    pretend d = 5

    7· (5-1) + 2 = 7 · (5+1)

    7·4+2 = 7·6

    28 + 2 = 42

    30 = 42 doesnt make any sense

    therefore, 7· (d-1) + 2 is not equal to 7· (d+1)

    They are not equal to each other because

    7 (d-1) + 2 = 7 (d+1)

    7d-7+2 = 7d+7

    7d-5 = 7d+7 which is not equal to one another
