Jenny is building a rectangular garden around a tree in her yard. The southwest corner of the garden will be 2 feet south and 3 feet west of the tree. The northeast corner of the garden is 1 foot north and 4 feet east of the tree. What will be the perimeter of Jenny's garden?

    When they ask for the perimeter, you know to "add" the sq ft, or the ft.

    (ex: if i had a triangle, gave you 3 numbers such as 11 ft, 11 ft, and 14 ft, then asked you what the perimeter would be, you'd add 11, 11, and 14 together and get 36 (ft.)

    So we had 4 numbers: 2ft, 3ft, 1ft, 4ft. add them all and it's 10ft.
