    Speed = (distance covered) / (time to cover the distance)

    Peter's speed = (300 miles) / (5 hours) = 60 miles per hour

    Jane's speed = (400 miles) / (8 hours) = 50 miles per hour.

    60 is greater than 50.

    Peter's speed was greater than Jane's speed. (B)
