Timmy has 180 marbles, some plain and some colored. if there are 32 plain more marbles than colored, how many colored marbles does he have?

    180=x+x+32 180 is equal to x (amount of colored marbles) plus x+32 (amount of plain marbles)

    180=2x+32

    -32+180=2x

    148/2=x

    74=x

    74 colored marbles and 106 plain

    74 (180 - 32) / 2 because if there are 32 more than the other part, it is n + (n+32)
