Samuel wants to use his earnings from Monday and Tuesday to buy some batteries

That cost $5.60 each. On Monday he sold 16.2 pounds of cans and Tuesday he sold 11.8 pounds of cans, they were selling the cans to the recylcling center for $0.40 per pond.

How many batteries can he buy? Show your work.

    16.2 *.40 = $6.48

    11.8 *.40 = $4.72

    6.48 + 4.72 = $11.20

    11.20/5.60 = 2

    he can buy 2 batteries
