Sheryl has a basket of ripe apples and peaches. The number of apples in the basket is 12 more than twice the number of peaches. If there are 36 apples in the basket, there are peaches in the basket. NextReset

    A = 2p + 12 ... and there are 36 apples (a)

    36 = 2p + 12

    36 - 12 = 2p

    24 = 2p

    24/2 = p

    12 = p ... so, if there are 36 apples (a), then there are 12 peaches (p)
