    Let x be the salary of one of the department heads

    So 3x is the salary of the president.

    Then x + 3x = $210,000

    4X = $210,000

    x = $210,000/4 = $52,500

    Therefore the salary of one of the department heads is $52,500

    and the salary of the President is 3 ($52500) = $157,500
